Dr. David F. Upshaw was the fourth of five children born to Willard and Evlyn Upshaw on a family farm in Caroline County. After graduating from Caroline High School in 1969, Dr. Upshaw attended Va. Tech where he received a BA degree in Education with a Math concentration. He taught a year at Caroline Middle School before spending two years in Kenya teaching Math at Mombasa Baptist High School. He received his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Upshaw has served as pastor of five different churches across Virginia before returning to the family farm where he and his wife, Cary, now reside. They have two children and four grandchildren.
